Mum took both dogs for a walk today while i was at work, and came back to report Kye is coughing. I thought she meant he'd swallowed some water wrongly, but this is a proper, chesty cough and has continued through the evening.
It doesn't sound like the cough they both had last autumn, which was put down to kennel cough. Pepper's showing no signs, but I think i trip to the vets is in order, if he's still doing it by tomorrow morning.
Really hope it's not, as I've just got him back up to 'flyball summer season' fitness level, and being confined while it clears up isn't going to help much! esp with 6 comps between july and august!

If in doubt get it checked out
But kennel cough is a bit like the human flu there are many strains of it, and sometime dogs like humans can just have a cough you could try benylin. If its just a cough then you would notice it working after one to two spoons.

Thanks, we were on the Benylin!
I booked this morning and he did seem to be better this afternoon, but took them both anyway.
Came away with antibiotics and told it is kennel cough. Pepper is sounding likely to start showing in next 24-48 hours, as her throat is raspy and sore to the touch, but no cough as yet. but she on tablets as well.

Thought this maybe be of help to anyone reading this thread http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/information/atozofdogs/k/kennel-cough/
Kyespet, I am sure you know not to go to the comps you have coming up as Kennel cough is highly infectious, but you should be able to get your entry fee back.
Hope your dogs get well soon xxxx
