PostSubject: Petition to Save Sandbag   Sat Apr 11, 2009 5:13 am

I've been asked to forward details of this petition. There's a lovely dog, affectionately known as 'Sandbag' by the troops he's been helping out in Basra. The petition to to ask for Sandbag is be allowed to return to the UK with them. Please sign and forward to anyone you think might also like to sign it.

Thank you! Crossed

I hadn't seen that. Thank you so much for posting for the link! Group Hug

From the Official News Blog of the UK Ministry of Defence:

Quote :
Sandbag the feral dog, who has adopted troops of B Squadron of the Queens Royal Hussars (QRH) in an Iraqi port, has been handed over to the Royal Navy in a short, yet poignant, ceremony. Captain Graham Charlesworth of the Royal Navy received Sandbag from Major Paul Cox of the QRH at the British base at North Port, Umm Qasr. All the members of the QRH, even Sandbag' s most ardent admirers, were at pains to point out that re-homing Sandbag in the UK was not practical as he is a feral dog and not merely a stray. Major Cox said: "Sandbag has been a great friend and protector to the British forces at Umm Qasr Port; we share the public's fondness and concern for Sandbag but this is his rightful home." [Picture: CPL Dylan Browne RAF]

Of course they'd say that! Evil or Very Mad BangWall Very Angry

Poor Sandbag. Sad Cry2 Here he is:

Crossed for him. Sad
