Sorry guys, I'm fading fast (really early for me tonight! ) but am going to try to switch off, drink my cherry juice and get some sleep. I'm one of these people who's mind works overtime 24/7 (and I'm certain I'm not the only one on here!!! ) If I'm not mulling over anything important it'll probably be 'what to write on the new site' and I'll spend the night dreaming of html or something! (By new site I mean this if you haven't seen it already: http://www.animallifelineuk.org/ )
Anyway, night everyone! Catch you in the morning.

Aww, thank you. I did actually (for a change!).
Anyone got anything nice planned for today? It looks like a nice day outside!
It's quite sunny and calm here now, which is a relief because we've been having really high winds and it's blown some of the tiles off the roof!

So far so good. Cleaned them out a couple of days ago and noticed two of them had been left on there own. were barley breathing and very cold. Took them out rubbed them, warmed them up then put them back with the other 5 once there was some life in them (to small to syringe feed) just had to leave them and hope mum's would sort them.
Checked this morning and there full of life and still with the other babies so hopefully they will survive, (fingers crossed)
god i'm a stressed mummy at the moment. On top of all this just been told my 6 year old have to go into hospital to have two teeth removed and was at hospital till midnight with my two year old who has her 4th urine infection and an infection in both ears. God i hope it gets easier soon .lol

Ahh thank you for the kind offer. Hamsters sorted for now thank god. Been on phone to hospital because my monster won't take any medicine and if it carries on tomorrow she's going to have to go in for 7 days so they can drip feed them to her. Tried everything to give them to her but any ideas please post them as i don't really want her in hospital again as it means finding someone to look after my 6 year old for the most part of a week

I'm sorry, it sounds like you're really having a rough time at the moment!!
I should be back in Willenhall if you need a hand this weekend with anything.
Was it is you have to give her? Tablets or liquid medicine?

Hmmm what medicine is it? I find that with my lot and the rescues with the reluctant ones mixing it in something really really yummy works though can take some experimenting, most have a food they cant resist and i find it is often finding the ratio of yummy/nasty that does it. If its tablets maybe crush them and mix with food? Liquid the same? I've spent a lot of time getting meds into resisting rodents and Ive even gone to the point of melting down a yoggie treat, mixing in the meds then reforming the treat to trick them. Also sounds horrendously harsh but in some cases if you can place the meds in the animals mouth at back, stroking throat gently causes swallowing but need to ensure its small enough meds

I think it's for her little girl hun, rather than a small furry!
Same thing applies though to be honest. Or what my mum used to do with me was to get me to take the medicine and then have something really nice waiting in her other hand to shove in my gob afterwards! Chocolate used to do the trick.

unfortunatly it's a really strong smelling liquid. trying bribbing her with sweets, putting it in icecream, warm milk, food, etc. Even offered her some in black coffee as a last attempt (she loves my coffee even though she knows she not allowed. lol) Got to try one more time in the morning in the morning after breakfast and if it doesn't work it's a 7 day stay in hospital.
Wish they could give tablets as at least then i could just crush them in her food, but apparently not an option as it has to be liquid form for the anti biotics

Oooh the jelly idea is a good one......... or what about slowly melting a bar of chocolate, mixing it in then letting the bar reform (terrible for the teeth and weight but lesser of two evils?)
