Alfie is a wire haired Terrier cross. The vet has estimated he is around 12 years old. His heart, lungs and teeth all look and sound good to the vet, he’s just got a bit of stiffness around his back end that’s has obviously come with age. As a result he’s quite happy with a wander around the garden rather than a long walk.
Alfie has been neutered, wormed, de-flead and will be vaccinated before being rehomed.
The volunteer who has fostered him says that she doesn’t think he has had much love or affection as he was quite insular initially and used to cower when he was stroked. He didn’t used to like being touched or stroked. He wasn’t aggressive in anyway, he was just frightened. Now Alfie has settled in, he comes for a cuddle and is quite happily living with other female dogs. He’s been described by his foster Mum as “old, wobbly and very cute”. Alfie likes his sleep and his food and still gets excited when it’s time to go for a wander in the garden.
A really lovely old boy who obviously hasn’t had much love and affection in his long life. It’s time he got a forever home who loved him to bits and could make up for all the years he’s been starved of love and affection. He was rescued from a dog pound where he would have been put to sleep if we hadn’t have stepped in. We are certain we can find this old boy someone to love him for his twilight years. Are you that person?
If you are interested in meeting Alfie, please contact Bobby on 07598 108247 or e-mail bobbybowker@ntlworld.com Alfie is currently fostered in the Leeds area.
